Tony Mucciardi has a BS in Chemical Engineering, an MS in Systems Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering. He has over thirty years of experience in the non-destructive evaluation (NDE) field, where he has specialized in developing advanced NDE instrumentation based on signal processing principles. He has been on the faculty of the US Naval Academy (11 years) as a Research Professor teaching NDE courses to 4th-year Mechanical Engineering students. Tony is the founder and president of TreeRadar, Inc., a Maryland-based company specializing in the application of NDE principles to assess the structural integrity of trees by non-invasive inspection of their trunks and roots. TreeRadar has developed and patented the Tree Radar Unit (TRU™) NDE inspection instrument for tree NDE using Ground-Penetrating Radar technology, which operates like a smartphone. To date, 166 TRU Systems are in use worldwide.
